Recently, FPT Corporation and Foster Electric Group in Vietnam held a project kick-off meeting for the automation of the “Raw Materials Invoice Accounting” process under the Accounting Department. The kick-off marked an important milestone in the collaboration between Foster Vietnam Group and FPT, demonstrating both parties’ strong commitment to standardizing operations, accelerating document processing, and improving the quality of accounting data through automation.

As a core member of Foster Group (Japan), Foster Electric Vietnam has established a solid presence with a network of companies and manufacturing facilities located in key industrial areas such as Bac Ninh, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, and Binh Duong. With a workforce numbering in the tens of thousands, Foster Group in Vietnam plays a critical role in the global supply chain, supplying headphones, speakers, and electronic components to leading international brands.
Large-scale manufacturing inevitably brings significant pressure on the Finance and Accounting departments of Foster Group companies in Vietnam, which must handle a “mountain” of documents such as customs declarations, invoices, purchase orders, and bills of lading. Manually processing thousands of data entries each accounting period not only places a heavy workload on staff but also poses substantial risks of errors in cost accounting.
To address this challenge, Foster Group companies in Vietnam—led by Foster Electric Bac Ninh—have decided to partner with FPT to deploy process automation using the Akabot solution. Virtual robots will intelligently process input data, automatically reconcile information, and interact across multiple systems to record transactions. Notably, during the data processing stage, Akabot integrates Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to extract information fields from various document formats, helping reduce up to 80% of manual data entry performed by employees.
During the meeting, representatives from Akabot and Foster Electric Bac Ninh agreed on a phased implementation approach, prioritizing items that deliver early benefits while ensuring thorough testing before official go-live. Both sides also aligned on working mechanisms, including business and technical focal points, regular meeting cadence, and change management procedures to effectively control progress, quality, and process stability after deployment.

Mr. Hoang Van Truong, Director of Foster Vietnam (Bac Ninh), shared his expectation that the project will serve as a foundation for expanding digital transformation collaboration with FPT across other areas such as production optimization and factory operations. These initiatives are expected to help Foster Group companies in Vietnam save processing time, reduce operating costs, and enhance competitiveness within the global supply chain.
With strong commitments in resources and technology from the FPT team, the project is expected to reach completion by May 2026, delivering measurable results in time and cost savings. This will pave the way for broader automation deployment across additional processes, further reinforcing the strategic digital transformation partnership between FPT and Foster Group in Vietnam.
