FPT’s AI Agentic Automation Solution – Akabot – Granted Patent in Taiwan: Strengthening the Global Presence of “Make in Vietnam” Technology

In the global AI era, mastering core technologies is a key factor for Vietnamese technology companies seeking to expand their presence on the world stage. Recently, Akabot – FPT’s AI Agentic Automation solution – has officially been granted its first patent in Taiwan, marking a strategic milestone that highlights the innovation capability and value of a “Make in Vietnam” technology product in some of the most demanding technology markets.

Setting a Technology Benchmark: Comprehensive Patent Protection

The Taiwan Intellectual Property Office has granted Akabot a patent with comprehensive protection covering the system, implementation method, and non-transitory storage media for a machine learning solution that automatically separates and classifies input documents.

This patented technology addresses a common operational bottleneck for enterprises: processing large volumes of documents in multiple formats such as invoices, contracts, purchase orders, and acceptance reports. By mastering this core technology, Akabot enables AI Agents to intelligently process 300–400 document sets per day, reducing document separation and classification time from around 15 minutes to just 30–60 seconds.

Holding patents for both the System and Method ensures full protection of Akabot’s proprietary algorithms against potential technology replication.

Strategic Value: A Powerful “Passport” for Vietnamese Technology

Before receiving the patent in Taiwan, Akabot’s machine learning system for document separation and classification had already been granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2023. The technology is now widely applied across solutions such as Akabot Vision and UBot Invoice, supporting nearly 2,000 customers worldwide.

Securing patents in highly competitive technology markets such as the United States (2023) and Taiwan (2026) provides Akabot with significant strategic advantages. In international tenders, intellectual property (IP) is often a decisive competitive factor. These patents establish strong legal barriers while creating a clear technological differentiation between Akabot and other solutions in the market.

Furthermore, international patents significantly enhance product valuation. FPT’s automation and operational optimization solutions are no longer viewed simply as service offerings, but as technology products backed by globally recognized intellectual property.

Strengthening the Global Position of “Make in Vietnam” Technology

Commenting on this technological milestone, Operations Director of New Business Sector at FPT IS, FPT Corporation, stated that international patents serve as strong evidence that Make in Vietnam technology products are fully capable of solving complex challenges in global markets. “This is only the beginning. Products developed by FPT will continue to innovate and break new ground, bringing Vietnamese creativity and intelligence to the forefront as we conquer new global technology milestones.”

In international technology markets, owning patents in advanced jurisdictions is an important competitive requirement. Such intellectual property protection not only builds strong legal barriers but also significantly enhances the product’s credibility and positioning in the global market.

The new Akabot patent granted in early 2026 signals the start of a new chapter. Vietnamese technology products are gradually moving beyond the traditional “outsourcing” label to become innovators and technology creators, confidently competing with leading global players through their own innovation capability and intellectual property.
